I have always wanted to do a «monthly favourites» type of post on this blog, but I kept putting it off some reason or the other — until this year. I will be doing one of these every month (or every two months) and I will include literally everything that I have loved or that has made me happy during that time, be it a film, a song, a book, a TV show, an item of clothing or anything else. These are my April and May favourites. They're not many, but I think they're good.
1. The Age of Adaline (2015)
The Age of Adaline is about a woman named Adaline Bowman (beautifully played by Blake Lively) who stops aging after an accident in 1937, at the age of 29. After years of loneliness, she meets a dashing philanthropist named Ellis Jones (played by Michiel Huisman), who complicates the eternal life she has settled into. The supporting cast includes Harrison Ford, who plays Ellis's father and Adaline's former lover, and Ellen Burstyn, who plays Adaline's daughter. I loved this film so much that as soon as finished watching it, I wanted to watch it again. Blake Lively is stunning as Adaline and Michiel Huisman is simply perfect as her love interest.2. AMERICA by 30 Seconds to Mars
30 Seconds to Mars have been one of my favorite bands ever since I heard «From Yesterday» for the first time when I was 17 years old. I have loved every single album that they have made and the new one is not an exception. It is absolutely brilliant and I listened to it pretty much non-stop all throughout April. I love that Shannon got to sing a song («Remedy») on the album. I never knew he could sing. I can't wait to hear the new songs live.
3. «Great Wide Open» by 30 Seconds to Mars
Naturally, my favourite song this month is a song by 30 Seconds to Mars: «Great Wide Open». It is my favourite song out of their new album and one of my favourite by them ever. It has a very anthem-like feeling to it and I cannot wait to hear it live in September (which is when I'm going to see them live in concert for the sixth time. Yes, I've seen 30STM live five times already).
4. Grey's Anatomy (2005-)
I started watching Grey's Anatomy when it premiered in 2005, but for some reason I stopped watching it after season seven. But I couple of weeks ago I decided that it was about time that I started watching it again. So I did, and I'm completely obsessed it with right now. I had forgotten how good it actually is (even though they get a bit crazy with the storylines sometimes).
5. These plimsolls by Stradivarius
They are glittery shoes. How can you not love them? They are super comfortable, too.
6. Tom Holland performing «Umbrella» on Lip Sync Battle
Tom Holland appeared on Lip Sync Battle about a year ago, but I only found out about it a few weeks ago. Let's just say — I was shook. I mean, seriously! Is there anything that kid cannot do? I'm not going to lie, I have watched it more times than I probably should, but I regret nothing.
I found that lip sync thing disturbing, could only take a few seconds of it.
